LOVED My Cousin Vinny. It isn't often that an actor can appear in a movie completely out of character relating to the roles he or she usually plays and do as well as Joe Pesci did in that movie. Hilarious! Fred Gwynne as the judge, too.
Another movie along those lines was Leap Of Faith, with Steve Martin as the charlatan faith-healer Jonas Nightengale in the only serious role I've ever seen him in. A really excellent movie in all respects that never really got the recognition that in my mind it deserved, especially for the revelations of many of the ways such phonies "motivate" people to make donations. And with a really great (and unexpected) ending.
