Bye the way, had lunch today at a (supposedly) real Italian restaurant in TV. Very popular place. Was it great? No. Was it good? No. Many we like better. Even O. G.! The only item we thought was good was the garlic rolls served with a small, fairly plain salad. My next Italian meal will be from our kitchen. Yes! I can cook! Haven't killed anyone, yet! Now, where did I put those camparri tomatoes? 😋

I think my earliest post on this was the same as yours....when it comes to Italian, selfishly, I can do it better in my own kitchen. As another stated and I agree, you control the ingredients. Try the authentic san marzano tomatoes if you're going red
