Not really sure what your question is. The Entertainment Department sets up tables at both Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs for "special" events like Oktoberfest. They are free for use by visitors to the squares on a "first come-first served" basis - which has been the cause of considerable consternation in the past. How far ahead can you "reserve" you seat by tilting the chair or putting your cooler or chair cushion there or some such? I have never witnessed it but I have heard that fist fights have actually broken out when someone "reserved" their seats at, say 9 AM for a 5 PM parade.

One time (and one time only) TV tried "selling" table seats for New Years Eve. Being generous, that was a disaster. They canceled and refunded money well prior to New Years. At present, I do not think they put out tables on New Years Eve nor do the bands at either square play past 9 PM (their normal quitting time).
