A friend, who owns a small farm near the new Middletown area, told me neighboring farmers are getting purchase offers they can't refuse. The company buys land through several shell companies, so tracking purchases isn't easy. It doesn't feel like a friendly hometown anymore, but I would love to own a piece of the business.

Farmers are cashing out across the country. I really can’t blame them
