Will probably get a lot of opinions here. Only way to get a true sense is by getting the actual crime statistics and even they do not give an accurate depiction of what is going on. For example if the murder rate is up and most of the murders are family/spousal related, murder rates for others might be going down. We were there last June in the Financial District.
