For years they collected STATE money from taxes all Florida residents pay. The money (grants) were extended to various communities to support and/or stimulate Florida tourism. Perhaps this source has "dried up " and now 100% in on the retails businesses ? ? Maybe that why a lot of the shops that were once so welcomed by residents, have left ? I patronize B&N frequently, still that "old type" who likes an actual book rather than my tablet, when reading. However, each times I go to the counter to check out, I wonder how much longer they will be able to keep the doors of such a large attractive building open ?
