Default It has to do with the political priority. Energy independence

and or getting away from fossil fuels are not in the politicians best interest, personally, to do anything about it.
What has been heard about the subject so far this year? Nothing since the so called pain at the pump has eased to it's new level of tolerance by the fickle US consumer. NO problem, until next time.

Ans all the crowing about new refineries and new drilling taking 10 years or more.....well one year has gone by and nothing started.

Now why do we think the Chinese are buying up rights of way here in the US, putting up wind farms? Thats a long way to send electricity (back to China...). They are getting set to capitalize on the future needs and lack of fossil fuel era that is in our futures. The Chinese are not held at bay by the oil based special interest lobbyists that control the politicians. Now why don't we hear much about this?

The alternatives are known. Wind, nuclear, clean coal technology and domestic drilling. Just like the war(s), the bail outs and the newest fad health care reform....there is no plan. Hence no priority. Hence no accomplishment.

When the world is in a turmoil due to an interrupted oil supply (for what ever reason) it won't matter what kind of health care one has....will it?

The future impact of fossil fuel, foreign dependency on our lives will dwarf the health care reform joke.

Unfortunately with the sky is the limit spending on fixing companies too big to fail, and the political charade of caring about the state of our health care and the sky high cost of reform.....there won't be any money left to pursue the energy alternatives. Hence enter the Chinese and anybody else smarter than our politicians into our back yard positioning themselves to be the non fossil barons of the future.

How much more short sighted can we be than this?
