I remember another thread where a poster had waited 4 months for a circuit board to repair a fancy variable speed HVAC compressor. If he had bought a standard one-speed compressor, it would have been repaired in less than a day.

Metal roofs have been used in Florida for over 100 years. They are actually faster to install than shingles and last for 40 to 50 years and longer. The main reason they are not used more is the higher cost, not allowed by HOA's, or personal preference.
