I have had 2 bad experiences with pitbulls. I believe they are a very powerful, dangerous, and unpredictible breed. They are banned in many cities and military bases. Google news them and you will read about their behavior. On two separate occasions pitbulls have attacked my beagle. The first time I was able to scare it off with a stick after it jumped a chain link fence and attacked us. The second time a pitbull ran right through my stick and grabbed my 13 inch beagle by the rear leg as she tried to run away. My lease stopped her and it almost tore her rear leg. Two surgeries, 13 staples, and 3 rows of stitches inside and out and her leg was saved. I beat it with a stick and it would not let go. I jumped on it and grabbed it the jaws. I was able to pull it off and that is when her leg tore open. It then grabbed her by the head tearing her mouth open and nearly ripped her eye. I tackled it and choked it until it let go of her head. I received a small puncture to my hand.
Trust me.. we are no match for them. Google video them and you can see their unprovoked attacks. They are apparently very loyal and nice to their owners but many children, animals and adults have been maimed and killed by this breed. I now carry chemical repellant and pepper spray. I will tackle another one if I have to in order to save my best friend, but I probably wont be so lucky next time.
