Unless I'm buying a clearance model off the floor, there is no reason for me to buy an appliance in person...IF I know what I want. My first 'stop' is always Costco. You get extended warranty included. free delivery and free haul away of old appliance in most cases. Plus a better price to boot. The only snag is limited selection, so there is a chance they don't have what you want. At that point I would check out the Lowes, Home Depots, Best Buys of the world. There is also something to be said for locally owned Appliance stores if the cost difference isn't too severe. Typically you will get better service going that route and you are supporting a local business. That's my three cents (sorry, inflation is everywhere).
