The Once a Year name is a little confusing, but what it really means is that for your first year of service you pay once. Kinda dumb, huh? The service is weekly, monthly and bi-monthly and quarterly throughout the year. We have been TOTALLY satisfied. We call in with a problem with anything and they are here the next morning before 9 AM. After the first year you pay monthly. They also have a Turf Replacement Guarantee. In the Sunday Paper you will see two full-page inserts (Orange and Blue ink).

Once-a-Year's turf replacement guarantee isn't worth the paper it is written on. We used them for a couple years after we first arrived in TV. Then all of a sudden, we had numerous burn pathes in our lawn with definite geometric shapes. We asked the technician about it when he was out and he said it was due to cinch bugs. (Which they are supposed to control) We had a supervisor come out and he said there wasn't evidence of cince bugs but the problem was not watering enough. (Mind you, I have never changed the water system time.) I asked him about their sod replacement guarantee. He said that because is wasn't their fault, they would not honor it... but they would give me a reduced rate to redo our lawn!!! I believe they used to much fertilizer and our lawn was burnt. I immediately cancelled their contract and switched to Massey. Haven't had any problem in the last 3 years. Lawn looks beautiful and they are here every other week doing something to the lawn.
