Condition is as good as any course in TV (for now). Pretty wide open and no shade. Mediocre layout, but gets more interesting depending on the tees you play. We played the blue, and there were some intimidating forced carries. Went to a party later and neighbors had played the green---they found it less interesting. Overall, a pretty short course with 4 par 5's, 8 par 4's and 6 par 3's. I'd play it again.

Two interesting par 5’s first one we had to hit the 2nd shot away from the green about 45 deg to the right then back. 18 is such as hard dogleg left, they made it out of bounds to hit down 10 fairway. Lots more undulations than SO. 17 was a dog leg right around homes… I see broken glass in the future.

Overall, I felt the course was fairly easy compared to Glenview, Lopez and Palmer and nothing like Hibiscus at Cane Garden.

One more thing, no trees anywhere except a few palms that were newly planted, maybe in 5 years they will come into play.

The grass on the fairways is excellent. The greens are perfect--without question, they are the best in The Villages. This proves that all that is needed to grow grass is sun and water. Certainly, there is plenty of sun as the only living thing that could find shade on the course would be an ant under a blade of grass. This is not going to improve as the only trees are palms.

By car, the best route is from Southern Oaks on Bexley Trail. Even in a car, you feel as if you are driving to the end of the earth and are tempted to check your gas gauge. Don't think about driving your own cart unless you live south of the Turnpike.

Most interestingly, on opening day, Bexley Trail as it neared the course, was blocked off with "Road Closed" signs. Thankfully, someone had moved the barricades enough to allow a car to squeeze through. The street from Bexley Tr to the clubhouse was, likewise, blocked.

Thanks for the reviews. I’m sure I’ll play it eventually (have to get a logo ball for the ball rack), but based on what I’m hearing there is no pressing reason to make it a must play anytime soon. Another wide open mediocre layout, only 18 hole par 70 course with no clubhouse, tied with Southern Oaks for the highest green fees in the Villages, isn’t creating a calling. The two newest Championship offerings are making me feel very fortunate to live in an area where there are multiple 27 hole Championship courses (plus Tierra Del Sol), all with par 72 rotations, a variety of interesting and varied layouts, decent clubhouses and restaurants (except for Hacienda Hills), and lower green fees.
