That's exactly what it means, and it is no different for thousands of years. There will always be a "hottest summer" of the last 30,100,500, or 2000 years---until there is another one. There will also always be a coldest summer as well. What I object to is the subliminal messaging now incorporated into the TV weather reports. If the high for the day is predicted to be 96 or 97, they report that as "near 100+". If the high is only 88, they report the "heat index" will be 100, and put up the area map showing heat indices rather than actual temps. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it certainly looks like the MSM is either actively or passively pushing the fallacious "climate change" agenda.
