I remember winter driving back in Minnesota (seems like a long time ago). But any other Minnesotan, especially if he/she drives around Minneapolis - St. Paul and the surrounding suburbs, will know instantly what I mean when I say that it takes at least two good snowstorms for the "stupid" to wear off. There've been innumerable times when, on icy or snowy freeways, I'd have some cowboy pass me like his tail was on fire, only to find him a couple of miles ahead spun out in the median, or with a highway patrol having him pulled over.

You might break the rules of the road and get by with it for awhile, but eventually the laws of physics will get you.
