I do find it surprising that the community most affected (financially speaking) from the fallout of the banking deregulation voted so overwhelmingly for John McCain. McCain, for reasons I have not yet been able to fathom, opposed reregulating banks. In other words, he felt it was ok to allow more AIG cases. Since, when you're retired, you're more dependent an your pensions, 401ks, etc - I would have expected more of a backlash against McCain's policies in that regards.

At least, if you're younger, you have time for your retirement plans to recuperate. If you're already retired, you basically lost all those gains with little chance of getting them back.
