I have worn over the ear for many years, with no problem, and always felt they were more secure than the in the ear type. Just personal preference.
First time with hearing aids will be a new experience to get used too.
The world is a lot noisier than you remember.
The sound will be different as it is being amplified.
The background noise that has been a problem for some time will not go away, but with modern hearing aids can be reduced, but not stopped altogether.
Bluetooth capability is brilliant, the hearing aids can be paired to cell, laptop, tv, etc. Conversation and programs are so much easier to follow with the device.
Use a good audiologist, not a hearing aid seller.
TOTV users will give you many recommendations, and Sam's seem to be a very popular choice.
Lastly, you get what you pay for with hearing aids.
There will be an initial WTH are these things, but when you get used to them, your life will be enhanced, as silence is a lonely place.
WHAT?
