Too bad. There's a French Open, Scottish Open, French Open, Spanish Open, US Open and about 2 dozen more. I will not subscribe to a self-proclaimed title of "THE Open". I will continue to refer to it as the British Open. Just like I will never to refer to it as "THE Ohio State University". And don't get me started on the Washington Redskins.
