In March of 2024, I too switched from Century Link to Quantum Fiber at the incessant urging of Century Link via their emails. When I log into my account on Quantum's website today, under the "Services" tab it still shows "Fiber internet - Price for Life $30.00 per month." Maybe they wait a certain period of time before they change the rate.
At the time I switched to Quantum, they sent me an email entitled "Your Quantum Fiber order confirmation". In that email under the section "Additional Information and Terms and Conditions of Your Service", it states the following: "Price for Life Offers (residential) & Offers with Set Monthly Rates for Services (business). If you selected one of these offers, the monthly recurring charges for your services only and any applied discounts will remain the same as long as services subject to that offer and the service address where service is delivered don’t change for any reason and your account remains in good standing, is not suspended, changed, or disconnected. Equipment charges, fees, and taxes are not included in Price for Life offers or Set Monthly Rate offers, are not guaranteed and may increase." Higher up in this same email it states "Order confirmation. Fiber Internet Up to 200 Mbps - Price For Life $30.00"
I'll speculate that everyone that switched to Quantum got this same email. It's not that $40 is a bad price for internet, but it would irk me to have them renege on a clearly stated commitment. I wonder what options are available to hold them accountable -- note that it's about the principle and the ethics rather than the $10.
