I have made the drive several times. Twice with a U-Haul and twice towing a trailer. Never with a U-Haul plus trailer. I guess my question would be why 3 days. I live in the very most Northern VA and it takes me a maximum of 14 hours. It also takes me almost 3 hours to get to where your first stop is in Stoney Creek. So the 2nd day would be only an 11 hour day even driving the truck. If again you leave around 5 AM, you should be there by 4 PM in the afternoon. However if you really want to spend another night this is how I have made my plan. I go to the Hampton Inn web site and find them about every 100 miles for the entire trip. That way if I had a slow down for some reason, traffic, construction, equipment failure, or I was just tired, I can call ahead to the next one and have a place ready to stay overnight.

There seems to be one along 95 the entire way. Even along 10 out to 301 there are a couple. I mapquest each one, and print a map that shows the exit number, has the address and phone number of the hotel, which side of 95 it is located on, and I even did the aerial view to make sure they had parking space for a truck.

Doing it this way you can travel as far as you want based on how you feel. So far I only stayed over one time as I didn't leave until around 1:00 in the afternoon. Have called a few on other trips, just to test to see if they had rooms and they always did.
