I do NOT lease/rent any of their equipment. I have my own router and do not need a mesh system because my router is capable of reaching every spot in my home and outside. They made a promise and are reneging on the promise. I was paying a lot more in the past, but it really IS the principle. Just saying. Quantum really has been excellent and I plan to stay with them, even with the 33% increase. The increase is not going to hurt me financially, but I keep getting flash backs of how Comcast/Xfinity keep going up and up until I had had enough and went to Centurylink.
I had a friend in the Villages that lost his internet for a week or so while they were doing some local construction so I set his phone up as a hotspot and he was able to stream two TVs easily with no buffering, while he waited for his internet to resume. I don't know how much weather effects 5G service, but I am kind of curious as to how 5G might work as a long term alternative.
