You are also probably speaking about the basic irrigation spray heads. I have all Rotator heads and they are not $2. But at the end of the day, it takes me 10 minutes to unscrew and hose the main filter once a month or more when the pond water is bad vs going to every sprinkler head and changing it's filter.

Apparently, some people have better irrigation water than others. I have never needed a main filter on the irrigation system. If I have a clogged nozzle, I just remove the filter and throw it away. Problem solved.
