Sumter County hosts "amnesty day" a couple of times per year. You can get rid of old electronics, paint, used motor oil, etc., for free. It is hosted at various places: the Sumter County fairgrounds, one of the lake parks, etc. It is usually well-publicized in advance.
Should be one coming up soon, I would think.
