Correct. They were both born with vaginas. They probably both have testicles as well. That's what gives them the Y chromosome.

Believe it or not, this is not an uncommon event. DSD. Differences in Sexual Development. It occurs about as frequently as kids with red hair.

That being said, that Y chromosome still gives them a competitive advantage over XX. Better muscle development. Better bone density. They should not be allowed to compete with XX, at least not in 'battle' type events.
