I too am relatively new & so far my understanding is in Sumter County with SECO power losing either water or power is a rarity. I have been told they lost neither in the last major storm - hurricane Irma, I believe in '17.

Flood waters might be an issue if a house is near a pond/lake/etc. Right now ponds near me are HIGH. A prolonged - very prolonged, heavy rain might be a cause for concern for some unenclosed lanais, bordering ponds.

At the moment, high winds don't seem to be headed our way.

As for heat from lack of electricity, I don't have much advice. Battery operated fans? Power packs that can power fans? What about food? I'm lost without the A/C & microwave

Good luck! & let us know how you fare during the storm.

Post Script: Last year during hurricane Idalia (very early in the morning, I walked my pup. The storm was a non event as far as I was concerned).
during Irma we only lost power for just over an hour. i'd hate to jinx us, but the news weather can be so dramatic sometimes: half the storms they predict never hit us anyway. i lived through Gloria in the northeast, --the rest is a piece of cake
