I am seeing at least 5 places online that sell the exact OEM cell replacement needed for $899 with free shipping. It takes less than 5 minutes to unscrew the two couplings holding the cell in place, unplug the wiring harness, and pop in the new cell. Our pool service company (fully knowing we aren’t there) wants $1,400 to replace the cell, which is total price gouging. I could order the cell, fly to our Villages home, pay for a shuttle, replace the cell, make the return trip back north, and still save $$.

I don’t mind paying a little premium for good service, but I can’t stand a business trying to take advantage of us. Any recommendations for a good, and reasonably priced, repair company would be greatly appreciated.
That price is not "price gouging"...

If you can do it cheaper, then do it yourself.

Of course, you don't have to pay employees, maintain trucks, pay insurance, or any of the other fees associated with running a business...
