Personally, I think you need an irrigation maintenance arrangement with a company who can check your system on a regular basis and will be available to make any repairs as needed to keep the system operating. I have Massey for this, they check the system 4 times per year for $40 per visit, and I don't pay them in advance. When I have a leak, they fix it for a very low fee or no fee. Too many people think that they should just ignore the system, and when it fails, they want to hire a one time contractor to fix the immediate issue. Often, they have trouble finding an available contractor and they get ripped off. This is not a good plan, especially for a snowbird. Find a permanent irrigation maintenance contractor who will agree to provide regular maintenance and repair.
