No - there are two main types of routers now.
Dual band routers offer two different networks (SSID's) for 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. You have two distinct network names, so you can select which one to connect to.
Mesh routers have dual bands, but generally offer both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz under the same SSID. Older 2.4Ghz devices and many cheap smart devices aren't able to connect properly to a mesh network. Most of the newer 2.4Ghz devices can now connect.
