Here's a link to a calculator that will give you exact speed comparisons between two different tire sizes. It shows that switching from an aspect ratio 50 tire to a 65 will increase your speed 2.36 MPH. It also provides several other useful values, such as the exact circumference of any size tire, useful in setting up an electronic speedometer.

I get a smoother ride with the higher profile tires and have no problems with them rubbing any body or frame parts.
