Certainly the
ride is not required. Make a deal with the driver. He doesn't smoke, or you walk. At least you don't need to carry the bag. If you are the driver, he smokes only while walking.
If you can't walk 18 holes, maybe it is time for a new sport. Water volleyball, pickleball, shuffleboard, cornhole. Or bridge, pool, etc.
