Medicare and NJ Insurance
Well, I live solely in NJ and am a retiree of the State of NJ. When I was working, I had the free insurance. I kept that in retirement and still have my prescriptions benefits for my husband and myself. We have regular medicare and each carry the insurance that we had at work as our secondary insurance. The only exception to this is that my husband uses my prescription plan as he's also covered under my plan.
Upon either of our deaths, the other won't be covered by the living spouses' secondary insurance.
I know that the New Jersey insurances from the State now cover Florida. (At least that's what I remember reading.)
I don't see why you couldn't go to doctor's in either NJ or Florida. When we stayed in Florida for two months, my husband had to seek medical treatment down there and there wasn't any problem.
Hope this helps.
Medicare and our secondary insurances have been very good about covering all of our expenses.
