This is the latest update I received yesterday!! You should go to districtgov.org and sign up for their emails. Then they'd send this info to you as they update!!

HURRICANE HELENE DISTRICT UPDATES 9/25/24 5 PM
While emergency management continues to be a function of the county where you reside, the District works extremely hard to ensure the safety of District staff, residents of The Villages, and District facilities. Due to the change in weather predictions and in preparation for strong winds and heavy rain caused by Hurricane Helene, the following actions are being taken:

DISTRICT OFFICES: District offices will be closed on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Normal business operations will resume on Friday, September 27, 2024.

SANITATION: Sanitation services North of SR44 for Thursday, September 26, 2024, are canceled. For those affected, collection will occur on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Friday, September 27, 2024, pickup is scheduled as normal.

Sanitation services South of SR44 for Thursday, September 26, 2024, are canceled. Thursday residential customers will be serviced on Friday, and Friday residential customers will be serviced on Saturday. Once-per-week customers will have one-day delays. Twice-per-week residential customers collected on Thursdays will receive service on Monday, September 30, 2024.

COMMUNITY WATCH: All gate arms will be removed at 6 PM today, Wednesday, September 25, 2024. When approaching a gate, please stop and use caution before proceeding.

RECREATION: All indoor and outdoor facilities will be closed on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Updates will be shared as facilities begin re-opening procedures

DISTRICT PROPERTY MANAGEMENT (DPM): DPM is on standby for post-storm debris recovery and to begin the cleanup process for any debris from the Town Centers, roadways, and common areas on District-owned property, as well as clear the multi-modal paths and bridges.

GOLF: Effective Thursday, September 26, 2024, all Championship and Executive Golf Courses will be closed. Updates will be shared as courses begin re-opening procedures.
