I am not a doctor, but I am somewhat familiar with eye issues. The word you used ‘guttata’ may mean the pre-existing condition is Fuchs’ dystrophy which can run in families.

You did not say what city you are in or near and we do not need to know that, but if you are not already in the hands of a corneal specialist, find one.

If it is Fuchs’ dystrophy, that can lead to a corneal transplant.

Corneal transplants have been going on for decades with great success. I have heard of a case lately though where a failed corneal transplant could have been because a perfect match can be needed between the person who died as a donor and the recipient of the transplanted cornea.

If your surgery was done by a regular ophthalmologist, I would expect that you have already been referred to a corneal specialist.

I hope your condition clears up on its own, but get in line for a corneal doc, even if it is just for monitoring. Corneas can be fixed.
