I sometimes say "good morning" or "hello" when I stop at rest areas for a snack or bathroom break from driving. I almost always get a smile in return, if not a whole "good morning" or "hello" back. Once in awhile I get a "have a blessed day." While I'm not religious, I appreciate their thoughtfulness in saying it to me and it always makes me smile.

Are you sure they're not saying "Bless your heart"? That has an entirely different meaning...
