irish dancing, irish music
We too love Irish music and also English/Irish pubs. There is O'Keefe's in Tavares, which we have visited. I am not sure if they have music, but it's the genuine article in terms of ambiance. The owner's name is O'Keefe and he has definitely gotten it right. There's are two other Irish places in Ocala, on the square. One is the Tin Cup and it's open from 4 on. The other is O'Malley's Alley and it's open for lunch (as is O'Keefe's). They have music but I don't think it's Irish -- more like top 40. But both of them really do have the ambiance. The buildings in the square in Ocala are historic as well, so the pubs have an older feel to them. If you're interested in celeigh dancing you should google folkdancing in Central Florida. There are groups that meet, but not in the villages. I was a professional folk dancer (long ago) and love Balkan folkdances (Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, etc) but there's nothing like that anywhere. Guess I should start a class!
