Progressive is large national insurance company rated A+ by AM Best, Aa Moody’s, and AA by Standard and Poor’s. Companies that were willing to write a competitively priced new policy on our home included the likes of Tower Hill, Edison, and Cabrillo Coastal, which are only rated by little known Demotech. And when I say competitively priced, the best we could do was a 67% premium increase over or previous policy with Farmers that they wouldn’t renew. And that’s with a brand new roof and HVAC system for a couple who has never filed a claim in their entire lives. I’ll say it again, consider yourself lucky Progressive is willing to renew your policy at a good rate.
