Retired guy you are spot on. If you believe you might have roof damage from the recent storm, call your insurance company and they will send out their Adjuster to examine your roof. You could have a legitimate claim. There were some a couple years ago who basically got “free” new roofs from what some call a “roofing scam” similar to what is apparently currently happening as the OP mentioned.
Roofing scams don’t just happen in TV but everywhere when there are storms across the country. Between the recent scams and the unusually number of natural disasters insurance rates have gone through the roof. No pun intended.
