Simple economics, Americans want cheap and will not pay for higher cost goods. There is a reason WalMart, Amazon, Dollar stores, Temu and others outside are huge, cheap goods for cheap price. Not saying it is good or bad, just a fact. Same will happen for groceries when the labor that produces them is eliminated prices will climb. Home prices will go up when laborers that do all the real work leave.
