"They" say a picture is worth a thousand words. In this case, there is value in reading the thousand words rather than just the comic book. Pay special attention to section 4 in the study provided above (it is much less than a thousand words). As I read it, the study shows that while CO2 makes up only about 20% of greenhouse gases, changes in CO2 have a non-linear and much greater affect.
Does the study support the statement that changes in CO2 contribute to 80% of global warming? It's too early to do that math in my head. However, the paper certainly does not refute that.

Why do people insist on making claims without looking them up first, do they really think no one will check? Proof by emphatic assertion rarely works.
Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.
