We have the Sunkist model which is nearly the same as the Amarillo...maybe a bit smaller. Our HVAC is in the laundryroom and not enclosed. NOT sure why your husband dislikes this feature! FL weather is different than up-north. Our garages get super hot when it's hot outside. Many use theirs for storage but it's not recommended. IF you find a house you both love but has the hvac inside---tell your husband it can always be moved later if it's a sore spot for him.
