"S", whom you responded to is pushing an agenda. As such, he will recommend as references only those places, sites or articles that reflect favorably on his position.
I suggest checking major internationally recognized sites, such as World Wildlife Federation (WWF) to see how the various populations of polar bears are doing. There are @ 19 various populations, I believe. Some seem to be increasing, some are decreasing and some seem stable. Some are so remote the information is sketchy. The increases are related to protection, inspire of habitat loss.
