When food is scarce, animals may produce less offspring or, if things are really rough, some animals can spontaneously abort fetuses so the mother will have a better chance of survival until food becomes more plentiful. A tightrope walker balances on the rope but isn't stationary. Not for a moment. But, as skilled as the balancer is, if they are interfered with, even a little bit, they can start to swing and sway more and more until the fall. Unless they get some help to allow them to reestablish that delicate balance.
No one ever claimed the climate was static. Our planet has had hot periods and cold periods. But always the changes were totally the work of natural forces. This time though, the forces of nature have, unexpectedly, have had a little extra help from (drum roll, please) Humanity! We are one interference clinging to one leg of that wobbly tightrope walker. The more of us there are, the more interference we create, causing the more farther out of balance things get.
Nice narrative - but without supporting data. However, I have data, which shows global warming and increasing CO2 are benefiting life on earth. Go on a cruise, golf, go swimming, or play tennis -- and enjoy our optimum climate.
