I have had this happen more than once when clicking what looked like a real link. Amazon and others. It beeped constantly, pop-up windows all over the place. Call some number for windows help they said. Don't turn off your computer it said.
Guess what. That's the best thing you can do. Turn off the computer with your power button, reboot it. Run a virus scan if you have an anti virus software. It's worked great every time. DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER.
