My strategies usually are limited to going inside, closing my sliders, or putting on some of my own music, while wearing noise cancelling headphones.
The only distinction between these other intrusions and pot smell is the legality issue. But does that really matter? Does it change your effective options? Nah. Not really. It gives you an avenue to escalate the battle, but you won't win it. You'll only make your life more uncomfortable. Unless you enjoy going to battle with neighbors, just remove the "legality-illegality" aspect from the equation and deal with it the same way you'd deal with a legal intrusion into your comfort.
Good luck.

That is a good post that summarizes the situation very well. I have a friend that smokes daily and then goes to the swimming pool. He NEEDS to smoke pot to minimize back pain from a long ago motorcycle accident. He is a very nice person to talk to. He is very intelligent and has interesting opinions on most subjects.
.......Personally, I always liked the smell of pot. I am unhappy that the Florida referendum on pot did not pass, but it was close. Florida has a tendency to be a little too conservative on things like that for my taste.
