I was stationed in New Jersey in 1969-1970 and there was an Italian deli in a nearby town that made the best hoagies. He had an oil and herb mixture he poured on the sandwich that was superb. The owner piled the meat on along with all the other fixings, I haven't been able to get a hoagie or sub that comes anywhere near it.
I was in Philadelphia one night with a friend that lived there, and I got a cheese and steak sandwich from one of those store fronts where you ordered and stood at a stand in front and ate your food. I have not had a sandwich like it anywhere. And the bagels!!! Gotta stop, I'm making myself crazy.
