The real time event will have pauses for ads. Netflix will need to broadcast something in those breaks and obviously you wouldn't be able to FF through them during the live portion of the event.
Neftlix has an ad free plan. I would be surprised if you could FF through ads if you weren't paying for ad free.
On other services (Hulu, maybe YTTV) some content requires ads to be seen even on the ad free plan.
So odds are two out of three you won't be able to FF through the commercials.
