One factor I've not seen mentioned, but related. If you buy a TV from Best Buy and have anyone else install it, they will NOT even help lift it off the wall if the TV goes bad and Best Buy has to replace it. I'm not talking unplugging wires etc, I am talking literally just lifting off the wall. It has to be sitting on floor or equivalent.

When I moved in, I bought a 77 inch TV at Best Buy and had Villages AV install. They did a great job. A couple of weeks latter, 1/4 of the TV screen went out. When Best Buy showed with the new TV, they looked at the old one hanging on the wall and forced my wife and I take it down our selves...They cried about liability rules since they did not put up, but they did not build the wall either....seems a method to sell their install team and bracket.

I had Best Buy install a TV in St Pete Beach when we lived there, and will never again do so. The install was so amateur (no wall plates for wires, just a chiseled out hole in wall, holes not cut to fit wall plate, just literally hammered a hole in wall, Two of 4 bolts in brackets pulled out within a week) that I had to redo including dry wall repair. Maybe I just had a terrible crew, I just wanted them out of my house!
