I don't disagree with you. I am just trying to make sense of why "initial period" appears even though it looks out of place. My guess is they recently needed to raise rates by $10 but found themselves boxed in by their "price for life" claim. By adding the new words they have a way out of the box.
That doesn't mean there is any plan to raise rates in the near future, just that there is a way for them to do that somewhere down the line.
Odd as it is, I almost wish I was paying more for internet today, that way I could justify to myself the trouble of changing to the $35 offer.
