Lol. That was my intention when I moved here, go as far south as possible while still being able to afford it.

Key West was ruled out for obvious reasons. I can't even afford to look at pictures of it. I considered Cape Coral/Fort Myers but the cost of homeowners insurance and the possibility that I would have to rebuild my home every 10 years spooked me. Miami is too expensive as well.

The rest of Southern Florida is a gigantic swamp.

So, here I am.

My sisters in Minnesota sent me pictures of their thermometers the other day. It was -15 and -21°. Throw in the windchill and you're talking 35 below zero. I don't know how I put up with that for 50+ years.
