“Rusting is a part of corrosion and is a chemical process which results in the formation of red or orange coating on the surface of metals. Corrosion can occur on different surfaces such as skin, wood, metals, etc. Rusting usually occurs on surfaces of iron and its alloys”

Can’t say you right or wrong? But in this instance I believe you are right

According to this correct!

Rust is iron oxide

Iron oxide is the byproduct of chemical reaction between iron and oxygen, usually in the presence of water

The chemical reaction which generates iron oxide weakens the underlying iron by consuming it

A chemical reaction which converts a refined metal into an oxide is called corrosion

You don't see corrosion, you see the byproduct of corrosion. "Rust" is the byproduct of iron corrosion. If you see rust then you know corrosion is occurring.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.
