We all have fond memories from our pasts that can never be exactly reproduced here. Find what floats your boat and try to make it something you enjoy now. OP I believe you got good recommendations for Gio's Deli in Oxford. Gio is an Italian immigrant and his offerings are loved by many. We enjoy his meatball Subs and his occasional Pre Fixe dinners. If you're jonesing for a cold cut then the Pub sub recommendations should be tried or you're missing out.....Boars Head Deli sauce (sub oil) and Boars Head dill pickles along with everything you choose on your sub will make you very happy. I recommend the Italian 5 grain bread and 1 whole sub should be enough for 2 of you

Food is good at Gio's but back room is incredibly noisy so we stopped going there lunch time
